Toni O'Neil

Founder / Director

As Director, Toni O'Neil, provides wildlife education programs for local residents or school children using non-releasable raptors and animal ambassadors. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and founded Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary in 2003. Toni is a regular speaker at the annual Wildlife Rehabilitators of North Carolina (WRNC) Symposium every January and serves on the Board of Directors for WRNC as well as an instructor for local community colleges.


Kelsey Gaylor

Rehabilitation Coordinator

Kelsey Gaylor, a local wildlife rehabilitator has found her second home with Possumwood Acres. Being a devoted animal lover her whole life she knew her future would be in the animal field. Struggling with the decisions of which field to go into and being a woman of faith she believes she was led to become part of the sanctuary. After completing over 340 hours in her Internship she was hired on as a Wildlife Technician. She even dedicates her personal time to the care and rescue of all animals.
