Saturday, April 19
10am - 2pm

Location 1: Pet Warehouse (Western Boulevard)
Location 2: Pets N Stuff (near Kmart off Piney Green Road)

Calling all bakers!  Baked goods of any kind can be dropped off at either location Saturday morning no later than 9:30am.* Proceeds go for the formulas, medications, specialty foods, and antibiotics needed to care for the wounded and orphaned animals.  We already have 39 baby opossums as of Monday morning!

Our new ten-year anniversary T-shirts will also be on sale at both locations.  Come out and meet some of our animals and birds that will be presented as well. Our animals thank you in advance for your support.

*Volunteers can earn community service hours, CCCC students can earn service learning hours, and high school seniors can earn SAT hours for baking for these two events. Please contact PAWS for more information.

Welcome to Possumwood Acres
Wildlife Sanctuary!

Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary
(PAWS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit center that exists solely on donations and grants, and the help of our dedicated volunteers. Our goal is to treat and release each animal and return them back to the wild. Many animals come to us due to conflicts with humans, such as being hit by cars, attacked by cats and dogs, or being taken away from their parents by well meaning but unknowing humans. We hold current state and federal licenses for wildlife rehabilitation, possession, and education. Watch a short video of what we are all about!

PAWS is a Wildlife Sanctuary specializing in rehabilitation care and treatment of small mammals, songbirds, waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, and reptiles. We provide:

  • Orphan care for babies and eventual release back into the wild.

  • Educational programs and presentations to schools, youth and civic groups, and libraries, relating to native local wildlife, ecology, environment, natural resources, and backyard habitat creation.

  • A learning center to provide experience in hands-on rehabilitation skills to new rehabilitators, or those interested in earning their mandatory hours of experience and training for a variety of permits and license.

  • A permanent home to non-releasable waterfowl and assistance with placement of adoptable domestic waterfowl.
